You’re finally able to take that much needed family vacation. Before you take off, whether it be on the road or via plane, you need to make sure that your diaper bag is fully stocked. You never know what you may end up needing, and as my mother would say “It’s better to be safe than sorry.” In this case, I totally agree. Here are five diaper bag essentials that you mustn’t forget on your summer vacation:
This should be an obvious one, but it’s too important not to list. Wipes are a diaper bag essential, because if you have a baby, you’re always going to need them. From spills, to dirty hands, to poopy diapers, you could never have too many wipes. I suggest you bring a lot more than you think you may need. When you’re out and about, you’ll never know what situations you’ll run into or what messes you’ll encounter.
2. Diapers X2
Whatever amount of diapers you just packed, pack double that. The last thing you want happening is to run out of diapers and have to make an emergency run during your vacation to get some. Have a stress free vacation by always having plenty of diapers on hand. If you’ll be away for some time, ship diapers ahead to your hotel or relative’s home so you don’t have to lug them through the airport.
Summer vacations usually mean you’ll spend a lot of time outside, whether that’s in an amusement park, the beach, a pool, or taking nature hikes. That means you’ll get a lot of exposure to the sun. Baby skin is fragile and delicate and needs to be looked out for. Carry plenty of sunscreen with you all the time so you don’t have to pay exorbitant prices in gift shops or road-side stands.
4. Spare Clothes
You definitely want to make sure that every time you leave your hotel your diaper bag has a change of clothes for your child. You never know what crazy things baby may get into, and it’s better to bring the clothes and not need them, than to not have the clothes and need them. If you’re out shopping or touring theme parks, you won’t be able to pop back to your room and change very quickly.
5. Hand Sanitizer
Chances are you are going to be in places where there are tons of germs and people. Keeping hand sanitizer in your diaper bag is smart and will make you feel less grimy at the end of the day. It also comes in handy when baby sticks there hand in something they weren’t supposed to, or makes a mess out of their dinner!
Written by Lisa Youngelson, Owner of Zippyz
Like most new moms, Lisa had been up night after night changing her newborn son’s diaper. She was so exhausted she could barely function, let alone match up the tiny snaps on her baby’s pajamas.
Frustrated by endless mis-snapping and re-snapping, Lisa found zippered pajamas, and thought her problems had been solved. That night when she unzipped her son’s pajamas, he started to cry from the shock of cold air. Although less time consuming, Lisa hated that she had to expose her baby’s entire body with the zipper. She felt her baby’s comfort should come first and yearned for the perfect footed pajama, which was both soft and cozy for her baby and hassle-free for mommy.
One night while feeding her son she thought of “Zippyz.” Zippyz are patented footed baby pajamas for easy and fast diaper changes with 3 snaps on the chest and a zipper from foot to belly. Finally, a solution suitable for baby AND mommy! Plus Zippyz are a unique baby shower gift! Along with her best friend and business partner Erica, Lisa decided make the diaper changing world a better place for all new parents!
