Despite the fact that mothers are virtually super heroes in disguise in terms of how much they’re able to accomplish every day, everyone gets tired eventually. The task of taking care of a child can be a job of its own, but managing everything else on top of that becomes incredibly tough. There are certain signs you may notice when your body needs a break, both mentally and physically. Here’s how to tell you may need a mommy’s day off:
If a good night’s sleep or a short nap doesn’t help you recharge, more drastic measures are necessary. Being constantly tired could mean something is wrong physically as well. If being tired becomes your standard excuse for not doing daily activities, going out, or just hanging out with friends, take a day or two of physical and mental rest so you can get your body back to normal.
Can’t Finish Tasks
If you find that you are rarely completing your tasks, then most likely the some extra rest is needed to increase your efficiency. A one-day rest might give you the energy and perspective you need to find the motivation to get important tasks finished. You can’t let your exhaustion interfere with vital activities of your day.
Life is Lacking Fun
Can you think of the last time you actually went and had a nice day with fun activity? Whether it be golfing, skiing, enjoying a favorite destination, or simply getting out of the house, you need some endorphins to give your brain and emotions a lift. This all starts with making sure your body is rested and ready enough for a full day of fun activities.
If you find yourself constantly running around all day without being able to take any free time for yourself, a mommy’s day off is much needed. A restful day will help you realize that being busy every hour of the day is not only unhealthy, but it’s not necessary all week.
Physical activity is not only important for the body, but for the mind as well. The more sedentary your daily life becomes, the less energy you will bring to your work and your relationships. Once you take a day off to get rested, you’ll most likely feel energized enough for a good workout. This will act as a win-win due to the fact that exercising will in turn release endorphins to make you feel great when it’s time to get back to work.
